Police say Lincoln man convicted of murder more than 20 years ago has been charged with 1st degree assault.

Police say 44-year-old Dearle Woundedarrow had served time for the beating death of an 80-year-old man in 1981.  Now, Woundedarrow is charged with first degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony after an incident last week.  Police officer Katie Flood says Woundedarrow and a 31-year-old man got into an argument when the man tried to bring a gun into his apartment.  Flood says Woundedarrow pushed the man out of the apartment and threw a knife at him.  She says the knife hit the man on the left side of his abdomen seriously injuring him.
