Lincoln Man Found Guilty of Murder- Again
A Lincoln man twice-convicted for killing his pregnant girlfriend more than a decade ago was sentenced to life in prison Monday. In 1993, Tammi Ligenza was found dead inside her home. She had been strangled and then set on fire.
In February, Cliff Davlin was found guilty of second degree murder, this after he was granted a re-trial in 2002 by the Nebraska Supreme Court. The life sentence brings to an end an emotional chapter for Tammi Ligenza's family. “It's been eleven years so hopefully this is it. We can go out and celebrate saying this won't happen again,” said Tammi's father.
In court, Davlin maintained his innocence saying the real killer is still running free. The victim's family members left the courtroom satisfied. They then took time to visit Tammi Ligenza's grave site.
