Lincoln man loses 100 lbs at local gym

A new fitness facility in Lincoln is proving the way you work out, can make all the difference in your success.

Good Life Fitness near 7th and Van Dorn had their official grand opening Friday morning-but have already been working with Lincoln residents in making their fitness goals a reality.

Dragging tires-lifting medicine balls-and doing push ups-no this isn't your typical gym-its Intensive boot camp.  Good Life Fitness prides itself on helping people reach their fitness goals in a variety of different ways. Joey Mumaugh joined Good Life Fitness after his son was born saying his life had changed in more then one way.

“After we had brought my son home from the hospital I was diagnosed with type two diabetes and that was a wake up call to make sure my fitness was something for me and for my family,” Mumaugh said.

Joey was taking over 2000 mg of medication a day and knew he had to make a change.  The family owned Lincoln-based fitness center took Joey through intensive training, nutrition classes and a full lifestyle change and in less than a year he saw big results.

“Now through my journey with Good Life Fitness I've lost over 100 pounds I'm less then 250 mg of medicine and I'm one more test away diabetic free,” Mumaugh said.

Friday, Good Life Fitness had their official grand opening- introducing a fully stocked gym, two fitness rooms for classes and state of the art locker rooms. But making this dream a reality was a long time coming for the brother duo and their partner.

“This has been a dream come true, we've been working on this for 18 years to come through today and starting off in the truck of my car with a few medicine balls to this has definitely come along ways a dream come true,” Steve Auxier, co-owner said.

Good Life Fitness offers over 100 classes a week-and even has day care for the little ones while you work out. The owners told us today-they are truly blessed to have their fitness facility up and running after all their years of hard work.
