20-year-old Andrew Walker was sentenced Wednesday afternoon for attempted first degree sexual assault and child abuse.  Court documents say Walker's victim, 12-year-old Serena Garrett died shortly after the incident from a prescription drug overdose.

Walker was given 3-6 years in prison for the attempted sexual assault charge, and 20-48 months for child abuse.  He had pled no contest to the charges last month.

Authorities say last March, Garrett and a friend were babysitting for Ashley Jackson.  Jackson has been charged with felony child abuse surrounding Garrett's death.

Court records say Jackson picked up Walker and two 14-year-old boys, bought them alcohol and marijuana and smoked meth with Walker before she left for the night.  The documents say during the night, Garrett took several painkillers that belonged to Jackson.  They also say a witness saw Walker having sexual contact with Garrett.

The documents say when Jackson returned home in the morning, she found Garrett unresponsive and they put her in a cold shower to try to revive her.  They later called 911.  Garrett was pronounced dead at the hospital.
