Lincoln Native Becomes Elite Blue Angel

A Lincoln area native was recently selected to the elite flight team, the Blue Angels. Justin Otto was one of three pilots chosen for the position.

Becoming a Blue Angel is tough. Every year, hundreds of pilots try to become a member of this team that has world recognition. Justin is in his Florida training right now. On Tuesday, Channel 8 Eyewitness News talked to his parents about what it takes to become a Blue Angel. They're considered the most prestigious and elite part of the US Navy. Only six pilots can call themselves a Blue Angel and the newest member is a Nebraska native. Justin Otto, of Crete went all through high school planning his future as a jet pilot. Flying runs in this family's blood. Justin's father was also a pilot for the Navy.
