Lincoln Public School officials only selected one high school teacher to honor this year for Teacher Recognition Day and this year’s winner works at Lincoln Northeast. Here is Friday, March thirds “Excellence in Education.”

Bruce Chapman has been teaching at Lincoln Northeast School for 30 years. Over the decades he’s taught thousands of students speech, theater, and English. Thanks to student Anthony Anderson’s nomination, Chapman is now lost for words.

“I can’t even say how honored I am. Humbled as I said earlier, a little bit embarrassed by all of the recognition,” says Bruce Chapman.

“I nominated Bruce Chapman because he’s been such a role model to my life and he’s kind of changed what I want to do with the rest of my life,” says Anthony Anderson.

On Monday we will spotlight the fifth and final LPS teacher recognized for being an outstanding educator.
