Lincoln Police Honor Those Killed In The Line Of Duty
It was an emotional day on Monday for law enforcement here in Lincoln. Across the country this week, officers are honoring the commitment it takes to keep our streets safe, and those who have lost their lives doing it. Fortunately the last time a Lincoln police officer was killed in the line of duty was back in 1968. Still, every day they climb into the patrol car, their lives are put at risk. Officers say it's important to take time and salute those who make us feel safe walking out of our homes everyday. We should mention, Nebraska law enforcement officers are working on a memorial in Grand Island. They're still trying to raise funds. If you would like to donate or see what the memorial looks like, you can go log onto n-e-memorial.org.
