Lincoln Police said two people in their late 70s have been targeted in the same scam within a week.

Officers said a 78-year-old woman got a call Tuesday from a scammer claiming to be her granddaughter.
They said the "granddaughter" told her grandmother she was arrested in Omaha and needed $10,000 in cash sent via FedEx to get out.
LPD said a 79-year-old man received a similar call last Thursday.
They said this time the "grandson" told him that he was in jail for drug possession and also needed $10,000 in cash sent via FedEx for bond.
Both victims were able to learn it was a scam in enough time to stop the deliveries of the money.
