Lincoln Remembers Veterans

Some Lincoln veterans and supporters took part Tuesday morning in the Veterans Day Walk of Recognition. This is the fifth year for the event. Veterans kicked off the walk at Memorial Stadium. The 3-mile trek ended at Antelope Park in the Veterans Memorial Gardens. Walkers included veterans of past wars, and family and friends of those who are currently serving the military overseas.

Lisa and Sharon Swisher were there to honor Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Swisher. He was killed October 9th in a attack in Baghdad. Tuesday his family walked to honor his memory.

This is the fifth year of the Veterans Day Walk here in Lincoln. Organizers say every year the turnout gets bigger and bigger.
