Lincoln Residents Hold Fundraiser For Woman Injured in Accident

Some Lincoln residents came together Wednesday to help their co-worker who was the victim of a hit and run accident recently. They spent the day raising money that will go to 27-year-old Pheleita Reynolds. She was hit by a car last month at an intersection near 33rd and Vine. She's currently recovering at Madonna hospital. Authorities found the car involved, but are still looking for the driver.

While police continue to investigate the hit and run accident, Pheleita's co-workers have been busy planning fundraisers in her honor. It's wasn't your typical day at the Ambassador. The smell of chocolate goodies, and whip cream filled the air. They planned a fundraiser in her name to help with medical expenses.

Co-workers describe Pheletia as a kind-hearted and strong willed person. The fundraiser went until 7 o'clock Wednesday night at the Ambassador Lincoln. They hope to raise 4 thousand dollars.

Her co-workers are having another fundraiser for Pheleita. It's a spaghetti dinner and it takes place on March 11th from 5 to eight p.m. at Northern Lighthouse Church on north 14th street.
