Liquor License Granted to Convenience Store, Causing Controversy

A new liquor license is stirring up quite a bit of controversy. For the first time in the state's history, the Liquor Control Commission has granted a special license to a Gas-N-Shop convenience store just outside of Lincoln on Highway 34 near Air Park. It says beer can actually be consumed inside the store. It has many local residents and organizations concerned.

When Channel 8 Eyewitness News talked to liquor commissioners, they told us there will be some different rules. For example, customers will only be able to drink where tables are set up. And they won't be able to roam around the store. We offered Gas-N-Shop to comment on this story but our calls were not returned.
