A local high school is helping to make wishes come true.
People gathered at Lincoln Northeast Friday night to enjoy some food and music for a good cause. It was all part of the second annual Rock-A-Wish event put on by the student council.
All proceeds from the silent auction, bake sale and concessions are going to the state Make-A-Wish foundation.
“We have our very own Make-A-Wish kid on student council who had leukemia when she was younger and so we just thought it would be a good event,” LNE student council member Jamie Holscher said.
Another local Make-A-Wish teen made an appearance and sang a couple songs later in the night. Organizers say they raised $2,000.
