Local music store seeking donations for LPS

A local music store wants your help to replace instruments lost in the LPS district office fire. Beginning Monday Dietze Music store will be taking donations. If you have an old string instrument, they want to give it a second chance. When the building burned down in May, about 35-percent of the music program's string instruments were destroyed. They're crucial for beginning students who can't afford to buy their own.

“We aren't going to limit it to strings. The biggest need is fractional sized instruments what they are violins, violas, cellos, these are instruments designed for smaller hands that will be used for a couple of years then they'll go into a larger size,” Ted Eschliman, store owner, said.

Again, the program starts Monday and goes thru the end of the month.
