LPD Arrest Man For Omaha Homicide

Lincoln police officers arrested a man Thursday night who was wanted in connection with an Omaha homicide.

Aauthorities issued a warrant for Daniel Craig Miller on Wednesday and Lincoln Police caught up with him late Thursday night.

Miller was wanted in connection with a weekend shooting in Omaha. Police began closing in on him after someone who recognized him from the news saw him near 16th and Washington shortly after 8:00. Police spread the word to area businesses.

That's when someone at the Sun Mart on 17th and South saw Miller, just before midnight, and called police.

Nearby investigators arrested Miller, without incident.

Officer Kate Flood said “You know it's something we don't always see this much cooperation from the public but it all came together yesterday it was fantastic how the agencies worked well with one another and the public helped as well as the media.”

Miller has been charged with first degree murder and the use of a weapon to committ a felony.

He is still in Lincoln. There is no word on when he will be sent back to Omaha.
