Today the Lincoln Police Department gave some local kids the tools for a magical Christmas.

They gave 45 kids from low income families gift cards to Target. Each received a $150 budget to buy Christmas gifts for themselves and their families. It’s the second year of the event. Each child was paired with an officer that walked them around the store and helped them find exactly what they wanted.

Around 80 volunteers came out today, both cops and community members. The money for the project was raised through Santa Cop and anonymous donors.
