LPD: Short pursuit leads to rollover accident

Laura Gouge

Police say two women were injured in the crash early Thursday morning.

It happened at around 1 a.m.  Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says an officer tried to stop the pickup after a traffic violation at 14th and Adams streets.  Flood says the driver, 22-year-old Lisa Gouge, sped away heading south on N. 11th St.  The officer ended the pursuit due to high speeds of the truck.  Police say the truck rolled and crashed near 11th & Oak streets.  Both Gouge and her 21-year-old female passenger were ejected from the truck.  Both suffered minor injuries and taken to the hospital. Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor and neither women were wearing seatbelts.

Gouge was arrested for fleeing to avoid arrest, driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, willful reckless driving and not wearing a seatbelt.
