LPS Superintendent blogging; volunteers needed

LPS employees who lost their computers in the recent fire at the district office building received laptops to finally get back to work…

Getting people connected and communicating with one another is a top priority within the district and the over 200 computers that were donated have been a huge blessing.

“The things that we've found through this process are so much more important than the things that we lost because we have found incredible character in people that you always knew was there but it just comes shining through in times like this,” Darin Raguse, LPS Technology Coordinator said.

The donated laptops have been given to employees as a loan from LPS until the new computers arrive in the next couple of weeks.

Lincoln Public Schools Superintendent Steve Joel is now blogging to provide thoughts and updates about the recovery and restoration after the fire at LPS District Offices.

He will try and add new entries as often as possible. The blog can be found at: www.sjoel.lps2.org

Also, Lincoln Public Schools has established an online form for anyone who would like to offer volunteer help or donations of any kind.  The community has responded with a broad variety of support and help.
