Lincoln Police arrested 38-year-old Samuel Dieter Tuesday night for two counts of Felony Theft and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Police say it all started with a stolen car.

According to Police, Dieter arrived at B & D Auto Sales near 48th and Cornhusker just before 6 Tuesday night. They say he was attempting to trade in an Audi, which police later learned was stolen from Custom FX.

Police say a B & D employee left to retrieve a dealer plate and when he returned, Dieter was gone, along with a Poniac Bonneville.

Several minutes later, Police were called to Lincoln Mitsubishi, where Dieter had taken the Bonneville after it broke down.

Police say when Dieter spotted them, he took off running.

After a short foot pursuit, police say Dieter was cornered at an area strip mall. According to police, a taser had to be used to take Dieter into custody.

After a search of the Bonneville, police say they found syringes. They say Methamphetamine was also located in Dieter’s coat pocket.
