Man Arrested In Weekend Crime Spree
The Lincoln Police department along with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office have caught the suspect believed to have been involved in a weekend crime spree. It all began on saturday when a man was confronted stealing tires and rims from Specialty Auto in Lincoln.
It continued into Sunday and after several cars were stollen officers were able to arrest the suspect and put him behind bars. Around 11:30 Sunday night, a Lancaster Sheriff's Office Deputy arrested 24 year old Daniel Snyder.
LPD and LSO got a call there was an abandoned vehicle in front of 112th and A. That vehicle was later connected to several offenses in the county over the past 3 days. Deputies combed the area, and then received a 911 call that a man had just broken into a house on south 105th street.
Deputies responded and that's where they found Snyder being held down by the grandson of the residents. “Thiessen needs to be commended for getting Snyder held down until officers got their its ill advised to confront an intruder like that in your house because of that potential but it worked out well in this case,” Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said.
Snyder is charged with robbery, possessing a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and criminal mischief. Lincoln Police along with the Sheriffs office said more charges are pending.
But they did confirm Synder was responsible for at least 3 stolen cars and are investigating if more were involved.
