Man Convicted Of Rape Wants Decision Reversed

A Lincoln man, convicted of rape, says the jury's decision was racially motivated. Donald Sanders was found guilty of raping a 20-year-old white waitress at a Lincoln club. An all-white jury convicted him of first-degree sexual assault on Friday. Now a Lancaster County District judge is considering setting aside the decision. The Deputy Lancaster County Public Defender says the jury's decision was based on race. Sanders testified that he had consensual sex with the woman. Prosecutors said the woman was too intoxicated to consent to sex.
