Man dies after being run over by combine

GENEVA, Neb. (AP) – Authorities say a man has died after being run over by a combine in a southeast Nebraska cornfield.

The Fillmore County Sheriff's Department said the accident occurred Tuesday morning in a field about five miles south-southwest of Geneva.

The Sheriff's Department identified the man as 58-year-old James Gable, of Grand Island. The department says Gable worked for Allied Genetics in Grand Island and was measuring a test plot when the combine backed over him.

The department says Gable died after being taken to Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva.
