Man Drives Into Bookstore

Lincoln Police arrested the suspect of a smash and grab burglary at the Nebraska Bookstore in downtown Lincoln. 24-year-old Gabriel Jacobs is accused of driving his pick-up truck into the bookstore around 11:40 Thursday night. Police say he filled the bed of the truck with textbooks and backed out of the store. A witness contacted an officer and gave a description of the truck.. Police found the suspect driving his red Toyota pickup at 24th and R streets. Police say Jacobs went up to the second floor of the bookstore and threw about 30 textbooks into the bed of his truck. Police  estimate the damage to the bookstore is around $100,000. Jacobs was arrested for burglary and criminal mischief.
