Man In Custody For Pipe Bomb Incident
The Lincoln bomb squad was called to a Lincoln home Friday night after a pipe bomb was discovered during a routine probation check. Lincoln Fire officials say a state probation officer went to a home on the corner of 7th and “A” to check on a client. That's when they say the officer found narcotics, explosive materials, illegal fireworks, and the pipe bomb. The pipe bomb was detonated in the yard at about 9:30pm. Lincoln police say 43 year old David Walters was arrested in connection with the bomb. They say he has been charged with 1st degree possession of explosives, possession of drug paraphanelia, possession of marajuana, and violation of probation. Officials say had the bomb gone off, it could have been much more serious.
