Man Sentenced For Fraud

A Lincoln man who tried to get hurricane disaster funds he didn't need, has been sentenced.

A judge ordered 41-year-old DeWayne Bush to three years probation…and a fine of $2300.

That's the amount Bush received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

According to the US attorney's office in Omaha…Bush claimed he lost property when hurricane Katrina hit Gulfport, Mississippi.

But he was actually living in Lincoln when he made the claim.

Earlier this month, 54-year-old Mary Jones was sentenced to five years for the same scheme.
