Megan Pendergast to transfer

Nebraska Head Coach John Cook announced on Wednesday that junior Megan Pendergast will be leaving the Huskers and plans on playing at another program next season.

A native of League City, Texas, Pendergast played in 14 matches as a true freshman in 2009, but then only saw action in three matches last season. One of the most athletic players in program history, Pendergast holds NU's performance index record and ranks in the top five in all four performance index tests, including the 10-yard dash, pro agility, vertical jump and step approach.

“Our whole staff wishes Megan the best,” Cook said. “She is going to have the opportunity to play closer to home and we will do what we can to help her make that transition.”
