More Severe Weather Pounds Nebraska
For the second Saturday evening in a row, severe weather ventured into our area… However, this time it was 'nothing' like the storm that hit last week. Tornado touch-downs 'were' reported in the Columbus area and in Otoe County this evening and in West Central Nebraska earlier this afternoon. Several other tornado warnings were spawned by doppler-radar indications. A thunderstorm moved through Lincoln around 7 p.m. Saturday, with high winds causing some tree-branches and a few power-lines to blow down. Lightning also struck a house at 4800 Bear Creek Road in the Southeast part of town, causing an estimated 6000 dollars damage to the roof and attic. The Thayer County Sheriff's Office reports a roof was blown 'off' an out-building on a farm near Hebron.
