More South St. Construction
For those of you who travel on South Street in Lincoln, more headaches are on the way. New construction will soon close down another section of the busy street. Part of South Street from 17th to 27th will soon close. It's expected to take about four months. The City says this stretch of road needs a lot of work. To get it done, they say it needs to be closed down. Thursday, they met with area residents at Prescott Elementary School to listen to concerns. Most of the residents agree the road needs some work. But, others say if it is anything like the other South Street closings, most recently from 27th to 38th, it will be a big inconvenience. The City says the street needs work done to the asphalt surface, the curb needs replaced, and the water main replaced. The construction is expected to last about four months. A date to begin construction has not been set.
