More Than 100 Teachers Told They Don’t Have Jobs Next Year
At least 162 Nebraska teachers have been told they will no longer have their jobs next year. The state's school districts were required to notify teachers about layoffs by Tuesday. The state's teachers union expected a five-year high in layoff notices as many districts get ready for proposed cuts in state aid because of the state's budget crisis. In the last four years, an average of 39 teachers received notices.
