More Than One-Hundred Men and Women of the Nebraska Army Guard are Called to Duty

Men and women from Nebraska City Seward and Fall City were called to duty on Monday. However, they will be going just miles away from their homes. They will end up in Lincoln and in Omaha. Their job will be to protect Nebraska's two air force bases.

At the end of the month they will leave for Fort Riley Kansas. There they will be trained to search suspicious vehicles and deal with bomb threats. Then they will come back to Lincoln.

The mission is expected to last two years. It will be served in one year increments.
