Lincoln fire worked through the night on a fire at a home on north 27th and R streets. Battalion Chief Pat Borer says the two story structure was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival.
Police blocked off parts of North 27th as firefighters worked to put out the blaze. LFR says they worked outside the home to prevent injuries. Flames had to be put out a couple of times after the fire was thought to be knocked out, because of hot spots.
Fire Investigator Ken Hilger says the building was unoccupied but is known as a hang out for transients. There were no injuries and there is no word on the amount of damage to the home, or the cause of the fire. The fire is still under investigation.
