Lincoln Police reported 10–year–old Eh Knyaw missing around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

They say he was last seen near 20th and G St. with some friends around 8 p.m. Thursday night.

Around 2 p.m., on Friday, police brought him home. They say he was at a friend’s house in the neighborhood, the two were skipping school.

I sat down with his mother moments before she knew her son was safe.

Knyaw’s family is from Thailand they do not speak English, a translator helped speak on her behalf.

"I am just worried that my son is lost, he is my only son," Ethna Knyaw, mother, said.

She says her son came home from school around 3 p.m. Thursday, he asked to go play with some friends.

A normal request followed by a frightening result.

"He went to school yesterday, then after school he just played, then I cannot find him,” Knyaw, said.

Knyaw’s mom went to his school the following morning hoping her son was there. When the school recorded him absent, police were notified and began their search.

Nearly 6 hours after officially being reported missing, Knyaw is home and safe.
