NE State Patrol Trooper Fired

Robert Henderson served as a Nebraska State Trooper for 18 years before an internal investigation found he was a member of a white supremacist group, The Knights Party who is affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan.

Henderson was fired in February, but an arbitrator overturned the firing and ordered that he be reinstated. The state is going to court to fight his reinstatement.

According to a copy of the arbitrator's ruling, the case had its origins in 2003, when Henderson's wife left him for a Hispanic man.  Authorities say when confronted, he admitted being a member of the Knights Party since June 2004.
