Large group of soldiers returning home to Lincoln

The largest single National Guard unit from Nebraska will return home Saturday after a year in Iraq.

Officials are preparing a welcome for about 275 Nebraska Army National Guard members who are returning from their deployment in Iraq. Members of the 67th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade Headquarters and the 1167th Brigade Support Company are expected to arrive around 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Seacrest Field in Lincoln.

A short public ceremony is expected to follow within 30 minutes of their arrival. The Guard says the soldiers provided intelligence support to three U.S. Army divisions in Iraq.
