Neb. man’s trial moved in child death case
A man charged in the death of a 4-year-old Minden boy has had his trial moved out of Kearney County. Dustin Scoville will be tried in Adams County in the December 2009 death of Landon Payne.
The 24-year-old Scoville has pleaded not guilty to a charge of child abuse that resulted in death. Two others also are charged in the case, Sharon Turnell and her husband, Charles Turnell.
The child was Sharon Turnell's nephew, and he had been living in the couple's home. All three defendants have denied causing the boy's death, saying he fell from a bunk bed.
But doctors say he had several injuries in various stages of healing and was malnourished at the time of his death.
