NEB MGOLF: Huskers head to Hawkeye Invitational

The Nebraska men’s golf team makes its final trip before the conference tournament when the Huskers travel to Iowa City, Iowa for the 23rd Annual Hawkeye Invitational this weekend.
Finkbine Golf Course, a par-72, 7,239-yard layout, will play host to the 54-hole event. Saturday’s action will consist of 36 holes, beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (CT). Sunday’s final 18 holes is set for 9 a.m. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.
The Hawkeye Invitational field includes Denver, DePaul, Idaho, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, South Alabama, South Dakota State, SMU, UMKC and Wichita State.
Michael Colgate, who has started every tournament for the Huskers this season, will represent the No. 1 spot in the NU lineup this weekend. Colgate leads the team with a 74.00 stroke average and five subpar rounds.
Justin Jennings and Sean Song have also started every tournament this season and will play as the Nos. 2 and 4, respectively, for the Scarlet and Cream. Jennings enters the event with a 74.92 stroke average, while Song holds a 77.12 average.
Jackson Wendling will be No. 3 in the Husker lineup and Jace Guthmiller will play as Nebraska’s No. 5 golfer.
