Neb. teen arrested after chase topping 115 mph

A western Nebraska 15-year-old has been arrested after leading police on a chase at speeds over 115 mph. Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Deputy Byron Miller spotted the teen Monday afternoon when he was passing cars on a rural road at speeds over 80 mph.

Miller tried to stop the teen, but the boy sped away toward Scottsbluff. The teen struck a curb, which caused his car's air bag to deploy, before fleeing on foot.

But officers arrested the boy a couple blocks away. Officials say the boy's driver's license had been suspended before the chase.

The teen has been charged with several traffic violations. A judge set bond at $10,0000 for the teen Tuesday, but he was still being held at the Scotts Bluff County detention center.
