Huskers Ranked in All 10 Weight Classes by InterMat

Following its dominating performance in the Journeymen/Asics Northeast Duals over the weekend, Nebraska has ranked wrestlers in all 10 weight classes by InterMat this week.

Previously unranked Huskers Tyler Berger (157) and Micah Barnes (174) each made their first appearance in the InterMat rankings after posting a combined 6-0 record in Troy, N.Y. In NU’s 24-6 win over then-No. 7 Lehigh on Sunday, Berger knocked off fifth-ranked Mitch Minotti, 7-5, while Barnes defeated No. 12 Elliott Riddick, 3-2. Berger is ranked 12th at 157 pounds and Barnes garnered the No. 20 ranking at 174 pounds.

Senior Austin Wilson earned the highest ranking by a Husker with the No. 4 spot at 165 pounds, and is one of five wrestlers on the team ranked in the top 10. Jake Sueflohn (No. 5 at 149), TJ Dudley (No. 7 at 184), Anthony Abidin (No. 9 at 141) and Eric Montoya (No. 10 at 133) round out the Huskers in the top 10.

A trio of juniors complete the list of Huskers ranked by InterMat: Tim Lambert (No. 11 at 125), Collin Jensen (No. 13 at HWT) and Aaron Studebaker (No. 14 at 197).

As a team, Nebraska is ranked ninth in the Tournament rankings and fifth in the Dual Meet rankings.

The Huskers open their home slate on Saturday night at the Devaney Center against Wyoming. The dual is set for 7 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on BTN Plus (subscription required).
