Nebraska Chosen As Host of NCAA Division I Softball Championships
(Lincoln-AP) — Nebraska has been selected for a second-straight year as one of eight regional host sites for the NCAA division one women's softball championship. The NCAA women's softball committee made the announcement on Monday.
On Sunday the Cornhuskers captured the Big XII regular season championship — their first such title since 2001. Nebraska has won 20 of its last 22 games and has beaten ten ranked teams this season. Each regional field will include eight teams, playing in a double-elimination format.
The games will be played Thursday, May 20th, through Sunday, May 23rd. Site selections were based on geographic location, the quality of facilities and factors such as attendance history.
