Nebraska Could See More Cuts in Education

The legislature shot down a proposal to raise your property taxes Monday, twice. Senators are looking at ways to help out schools that will be seeing some deep cuts again. As soon as Tuesday, the Lincoln Public School district will talk about cuts in staff and programs.

In Seward, they have already announced a proposal to cut teachers and programs.

As Nebraska schools try and get their budgets in order, they have to let teachers know by April 15th whether they're going to be laid off. The property tax issue may not be over. They could continue debate.
