A house fire, a motorcycle accident, and a devastating diagnosis, It’s just a glimpse into in the past few years for Sharon and Frank Devor.
"We never thought it would be like this," Sharon and Frank Devor, Malcolm, said.
It all started in 2011.
The Devor’s came home to their house in Malcolm on fire.
That fire destroyed their home and left them with almost nothing.
"We lost everything, we lost everything," Devors, said.
About a year later, a motorcycle accident. The two were hit by another car and thrown off their bike.
It left Sharon with an ankle injury and left frank much worse.
"He was in the hospital for a little over a week, several broken ribs, a crushed sternum, and had surgery on his shoulder," Sharon Devor, said.
The home was replaced, the crash wounds healed, but this year, the couple was faced with their worst fear.
"He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer," Sharon Devor, said.
Frank got his diagnosis last January.
Still playing catch up from the previous accidents, they are having trouble paying medical bills and more.
They have to sell their house and seek financial aid.
In a time when everything seems to be falling apart, the two find strength in each other to keep moving forward.
"Even on my worst day I think the same thing, I am going to kick it. We have been married for 42 years and I want to tease her for another 10, maybe even 20," Frank Devor, said.
An account has been set up at West Gate Bank by the family for Frank and Sharon Devor.
It is under frank and Sharon benefit if you want to make a donation.
