Nebraska man arrested on bank-robbery charge

Authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man from Harvard, saying he robbed a Clay Center bank in April. A news release from the Nebraska State Patrol on Friday said Brent Sanders was arrested without incident Thursday at a Clay County grain elevator.

Sanders faces charges of robbery, use of a firearm to commit a felony, being a felon in possession of a firearm and with being a habitual offender. The patrol says a man with a small, black handgun robbed the First Bank & Trust on April 20.

A court affidavit says the man fled with more than $4,700. No one was hurt. A jail spokeswoman says Sanders remains in custody, pending bail of $1 million.
