LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ The Nebraska Military Department will conduct a major exercise to test the department’s ability to provide critical support to civil authorities while maintaining its ability to perform its federal mission requirement.
According to a Wednesday news release from Lt. Col. Kevin Hynes, the continuity of operations exercise will be conducted Thursday through Sunday.
Members of the Nebraska Army and Air National Guard, as well as the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, will operate from alternate work sites because the Joint Force Headquarters in Lincoln won’t be available at the time for use.
The release says this is the second time in about two years that an exercise of this type has been conducted, but the first of this scale.
