Nebraska Receives Over $1 Million In Grant Funding

Nebraska has received more than one million dollars in grant funding. The U.S. Department of Health and Human services donated the money to the State's low income energy assistance program to help families pay for their heating bills. The department released nearly 192 million dollars to all 50 states because of the cold winter. Governor Mike Johanns says he wants to make sure every Nebraska family can afford to stay warm during freezing temperatures and heavy snow.
