Nebraska State Fair Exceeds Fundraising Goals
When Nebraskans heard the state fair was in trouble they wanted to help. Thousands of letters with money poured in from across the state, and it far exceeded one of their fundraising goals. Governor Mike Johanns has been heading up the fundraising campaign for several months now. They had originally wanted to raise 135-thousand, but ended up raising a total of 185-thousand dollars. Officials now will work on another even bigger campaign. They want 2-million dollars in lottery money per year. But, that will take a constitutional amendment, to be decided on by voters. The proposed amendment, that we may be voting on guarantees that funds benefiting the environment and education will still get their same share.
