Nebraska State Patrol Worker Arrested for Sexual Assault

A Lincoln man was arrested Thursday for two counts of first degree sexual assault on a child. The Nebraska State Patrol suspects there may be more victims out there.

The State Patrol says 47-year-old Steve Russum, is being held in the Lancaster County Jail for sexually assaulting two minors but authorities also believe there may be more victims out there. The NSP says the two females recently called in to report the assaults by Russum. They say the crimes happened to them between 1995 and 1998. The women were both 15 years old at the time. Russum worked in the NSPs supply division and officials say the alleged assaults happened when he was off duty.

The Nebraska State Patrol is urging any other victims to come forward by calling the NSP at 471-9688 or anonymously calling Crimestoppers at 422-1494. Russum also faces unrelated drug charges.
