Nebraska Teacher Pay Still Low

Nebraska teachers on average saw a $1,100 increase last year. But that money didn't make it into everyone's checkbook. The figures, which are provided by the American Federation of Teachers say although the average salary increased, Nebraska's teachers still rank 44th in the nation when it comes to pay.

Senators might be forced to cut state aid to school in the upcoming special session. Senator Marian Price said it will probably be several years before they'll be any talk of increasing teacher salaries in these hard economic times.
