Nebraska tops Liberty at NCAA tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Jordan Larson had 16 kills as Nebraska beat Liberty University three games to one Friday in the first round of the NCAA Division I women's volleyball championship.
The Huskers (28-2) rolled over Liberty 25-11, 21-25, 25-16 and 25-19 to post their 86th straight home court victory. The can tie Penn State's NCAA record of 87 on Saturday when they play Alabama-Birmingham in the second round. UAB beat Missouri State 25-17, 25-21 and 25-17.
The Huskers took control after splitting the first two games. The had four ace serves in the first game and finished with six in the match. Kayla Banwarth had three aces.
Tara Mueller had 15 kills and Amanda Gates added 11 kills and five blocks for the Huskers.
Liberty (25-9) got 13 kills from Karyl Bacon and 12 from Nicki Scripko.
