Nebraska Wesleyan basketball player Cooper Anthony has been getting a lot of publicity lately, and it’s not for his post moves.

Cooper drew a winning Powerball ticket Wednesday, scoring five of the six winning numbers.

His ticket was good for $50,000.

Cooper took the lump sum, more than $30,000.

“I kind of stared at my computer screen for a little bit and went wow that’s a lot of money,” he said.

Cooper’s only missing number was 34, which is also his jersey number.

He tweeted “Today was a good day” after he found out, and he’s been gaining in popularity ever since.

“I’ve been getting phone calls and messages and texts and everything from people I haven’t talked to in ten years saying they’re happy for me,” he said.

“Last night I sat on my couch in my dorm room by myself for 2 hours going through Facebook people. I was getting notifications every other second.”

Cooper, a freshman forward for the Prairie Wolves, says his family and teammates didn’t believe him when he first broke the news.

“We were all figuring it out as a group and we were all yelling and we were all sweating and all getting excited in the middle of my living room,” his teammate Jerry Cunning said.

Cooper hasn’t decided what to do with the money yet, but he is planning on putting some of it towards school, and he also wants to buy a new Jeep Rubicon.
