PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) _ Authorities say a worker who was shocked at a suburban Omaha construction site has died at a hospital.

Forty-two-year-old Jeffrey Glup was injured Wednesday afternoon at the site of the new Papillion Public Works Department facility. Nebraska Medical Center spokesman Taylor Wilson said Thursday that Glup died later Wednesday, but Wilson couldn’t provide the cause of death.

Capt. Rolly Yost of the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office said that a subcontractor was working on a drainage system when workers struck an electrical line with a backhoe. Glup, who lived in western Sarpy County, was injured when he came in contact with the line.

Federal safety officials will be called in to investigate the accident.
