New Information in the Death of Samantha Spady
New developments in the death investigation of Colorado State student and Beatrice native Samantha Spady. The 19 year old was found dead in a fraternity house on the Colorado State campus. Channel 8 Eyewitness News learned that the charter for the Sigma Pi fraternity has been revoked, basically, closing the fraternity.
It was in the house, where 19-year old Beatrice native Samantha Spady was found dead in a lounge area authorities believe from alcohol poisoning. Now Channel 8 Eyewitness News has also learned that the fraternity had several rule infractions that lead to the closing of the chapter, including several alcohol related violations. Now at this point, authorities are not suspecting foul play in the death of the sophomore.
But as of Thursday, the Larimer County Coroner's office says the manner and cause of death for Samantha Spady is pending further investigation, toxicology reports, and final determination by a forensic pathologist. Now the coroner's office has also not set a time frame for all that to be completed. However, we believe the results could be released by next week. We also spoke with Sigma Pi National President Mark Brisco who could only tell us that the CSU chapter has been shut down.
